Ten Year Anniversary Backpacking Trip
Here’s a bit of a personal update. Last August, in the midst of a crazy year, my husband and I were amazingly able to keep our ten year anniversary trip to go backpacking (it’s a pretty distanced activity already!).
However due to wildfires and smoke our original plan of Colorado fell through, and we went through several back-up plans, leaving us with the last-minute option of driving to Washington from our home in Indiana.
The trip was incredible. In the midst of a difficult year, we saw God’s kindness and perfect sovereignty throughout many tiny details during our week. It was a reminder to both of us that God has been and always will be in control of his entire creation, down to the smallest detail.
If you’re interested, here is a short video that shows a little bit of the beauty of our trip. (David took over as our videographer, so you get mostly me in the videos!)
I can’t help but look at these images and ask along with Job, “Who among all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this?”(Job 12:9). Surely he is mighty and too wonderful for us to behold, yet he calls us sons and daughters. Praise to our Lord.
